Administration Committee
Terms of Reference
  1. To provide administrative support to the Council and committees of the Hong Kong College of Medical Nursing.
  2. To process application for Medical Nursing Specialist registration, submit certification list to Hong Kong Academy of Nursing & Midwifery (HKANM), and keep record of list of specialist.
  3. To issue Medical Nursing Specialist certificates.
  4. To handle appeal cases related to Medical Nursing Specialist Registration.
  5. To execute examination logistics.
  6. The Administration Committee Chairperson:
    1. to sign on the HKANM vetting form for fellow / ordinary member application,
    2. to attend the HKANM Registration & Membership to ensure a) all related procedures related to admission of Fellow / Ordinary Member; b) renewal of Fellow are in order.
  7. To disseminate relevant information of the Hong Kong College of Medical Nursing to members.
  8. To report to the Council.

Educational Committee
Terms of Reference
  1. To develop the education and training policy of the College of Medical Nursing in relation to membership examination.
  2. To collaborate/liaise with the Clinical Consultative Work Group in terms of educational planning and curriculum development of educational programs.
  3. To set and conduct regular review on examination/ assessment content for full membership.
  4. To report to the HKANM Education Committee and Accreditation Committee to maintain HKCMN Advanced Nursing Practice Programs and College accreditation are adequate to demonstrate our effort and operation in order.
  5. To report to the Council.

Professional Development Committee
Terms of Reference
  1. To identify the training needs of members of Hong Kong College of Medical Nursing.
  2. To collaborate/liaise with the Clinical Consultative Work Group in terms of development of continuous nursing education.
  3. To organize continuing nursing educational program for the enhancement of medical nursing knowledge.
  4. To maintain our Accreditation status with Nursing Council Hong Kong and to ensure our PDC activities meet the requirements.
  5. To liaise with Promotion & Public Relations Committee in co-coordinating talks for the promotion of public health.
  6. To advise the Hong Kong College of Medical Nursing on:
    1. Delineation of the domain of nursing practice under HKCMN.
    2. Setting up trends in medical nursing practice and education.
    3. Establishment of policies and strategies to cope with future developments including conducting research, the delivery and development of the health care services.
  7. To report to the Council.

Clinical Consultative Work Group
Terms of Reference
  1. To provide consultancy to the Council in terms of medical nursing practice.
  2. To monitor and review practice standards of medical nursing and to make relevant recommendations for advancement.
  3. To advise on benchmarking of quality and standard of medical nursing practice to ensure clinical competencies and professional practical standard as well as ethical integrity.
  4. To steer and coordinate activities on the development of guidelines and service indicators to enhance quality medical nursing practice.
  5. To advise the Educational Committee on standards for Medical Nursing Specialist education in terms of level, duration and mode of delivery.
  6. To make recommendations to Educational Committee on the content of curriculum for Medical Nursing Specialist education.
  7. To report to the Council.

Examination and Accreditation Committee
Terms of Reference
  1. To establish the system for membership examination.
  2. To endorse both the content of membership examination papers and assessment methods proposed by the Education Committee and the Professional Development Committee.
  3. To recommend to the Council the credentialing requirements including qualification, experience and any other attributes that qualify a registered nurse to have his/her name included in the Medical Nursing Specialist Register under a particular specialty determined by the Hong Kong College of Medical Nursing.
  4. To keep under review the existing specialist education curriculum and examination process, and advise the Council of necessary improvements.
  5. To recommend to the Council the composition of Accreditation Panel at least once a year.
  6. To report to the Council on matters related to accreditation of specialist nurses including recertification, restoration and removal of names in the Specialist Register in the College of Medical Nursing.

Remark 1
The Accreditation Panel
The Accreditation Panel shall comprise not less than three Fellow members appointed by the council, one of them shall be a Council member of HKCMN.

Remark 2
Appeal Panel
The Appeal Panel shall comprise of one internal member and two external members appointed by the council.

Promotion & Public Relation Committee
Terms of Reference
  1. To promote medical nursing specialist care to all nurses in Hong Kong.
  2. To promote the function and activities of the College to all nurses in Hong Kong.
  3. To disseminate information regarding the Colleges and HKANM to HKCMN members.
  4. To support the Council of HKCMN in representing the college in all professional and social events.
  5. To liaise and collaborate with HKANM and its academy colleges, professional bodies and organizations on professional activities and related community programmes.
  6. To solicit sponsorship and/or promotional opportunity for supporting HKCMN.
  7. To report to the Council.
