Membership Types Membership Type Qualification Fellow If a Ordinary Member has successfully fulfilled an assessment, conducted or recognized by the College in relation to the admission of Fellow; or fulfilled the requirements under Grandfathering Scheme. Grandfathering Scheme If a RN has specialized and practiced in Medical Nursing fro 15 years or more within 2 years of the establishment of The Provisional Hong Kong Academy of Nursing (PHKAN) and has demonstrated significant contributions to specialty services development, and in the opinion of the Council, the conduct of his/her practice was consistently good throughout such years. Ordinary Member If an Associate Member has successfully completed a Medical related specialty course or periods of training and passed such examinations held, conducted or recognized by the College in relation to the admission of members. Associate Member If a RN is engaged in postgraduate nursing education or in any study or other activity which is in the nature of continuing nursing education or if the College is satisfied that he/she is interested in such study or activity.
